Bonanza Hotel- This western theamed Hotel opened July 1, 1967 on the strip across the street from the Dunes. The hotel opened with only 160 rooms, but by late 1968 would have 1600. Kirk Kerkorian bought the property in late 1970 after the Bonanza declared bankruptcy. The site became the MGM and remained so until 1986 when the Bally company purchased the property and renamed it the Bally Grand. The chip pictured here is from the first issue and shows the horse drawn stagecoach in full gallop. Quite rare with only 2 or 3 known. |
